02Pros and cons
From the published specs, not owner reports.
For it
- 640×480 sensor, 2.8× the detail of an entry-level 384
- Smooth 60 Hz picture on a running animal
- Takes CR123 batteries you can swap in the field
- Light at 17.4 oz, 26th-lightest of the 194 riflescopes here
- Waterproof (IP67), survives a dunking
- ~$1,999, well under the ~$3,000 typical for riflescopes here
Against it
- Sensitivity (NETD) not published
- Only 4 h of battery
- Short 25 mm lens: a wide view, but less reach than a 50 mm scope
- No rangefinder, so you judge distance by eye
- Zoom past 1× is digital and gets blurry
