02Pros and cons

From the published specs, not owner reports.

For it

Sensitive sensor that picks out small heat differences on humid or rainy nights (56th-best of 285 that publish it)
Built-in laser rangefinder that feeds the ballistic calculator
Takes 18650 batteries you can swap in the field
Light at 10.2 oz, 26th-lightest of the 112 handhelds here
Waterproof (IP67), survives a dunking
Wide 17° view for scanning a field
~$1,111, well under the ~$1,995 typical for handhelds here

Against it

Entry-level 384×288 sensor, with less detail than a 640
Zoom past 1.5× is digital and gets blurry
